ORDAHLIA NERA – “BLOODY NIGHTMARE”
Second single from the debut album ‘Mask of Broken Glass’
to be released on 27 October 2023,

A month after their debut single “Elizabeth Ann Short”, Ordahlia Nera, the new dark symphonic metal discovery of Universal Music Group, have released their second single ‘Bloody Nightmare’. “Bloody Nightmare” is a song that speaks of wars and dreams of peace, a sadly trending topic.

The singer of Ordahlia Nera, Vanna Basso, author of the lyrics, explains how the idea for the song was born:

“War…since man was born, there has always been war. Is it a part of us? Do we necessarily have to choose a side? I don’t think so…I believe instead that the only truth is the one engraved in the eyes of the children who live in those countries where peace is utopian. There is no winner. Only suffering, humiliation, horror and all this comes from the being that is considered the most intelligent life form on Earth…man. The lyrics I wrote for Bloody Nightmare represent what I’ve always thought about war. The devastation, not only of cities, but above all of human memory. We often say that we should learn from history… but unfortunately human nature is led to dominate others…the strongest over the weakest. One evening, during a Zen Do-In session (a Chinese discipline that helps the body connect with the spirit, through muscle relaxation exercises and subsequent meditation), my vision was that of a flying dragon flying over a city devastated by war. …I saw people crying and screaming for everything they had lost and I asked myself: what can I do for them? From up here… a dragon-me, with all my power, can’t do anything. I was sick, I felt helpless. This is why at the end of the song, I become a Phoenix… bearer of Life, of Hope. Even if in the final part (in speech) I express what we actually are… we would like to help the weakest, we perceive suffering around us. But then we remain in our “comfortable” world, because if we are well and everything is going well for us, then we are happy like this. The music that Ivo wrote for our next single is very “empathetic” and combined with the lyrics, in our humble opinion, it is something unique.”

As with “Elizabeth Ann Short” and all the tracks from the album Mask of Broken Glass, soon available through Universal Music (pre-save here https://lnk.to/mobg ), “Bloody Nightmare” was also edited by international producer Pietro Foresti together with co-producer Vincenzo Giacalone at the Frequenze Studio in Monza. Composed by Ivo Ricci, “Bloody Nightmare” combines very original musical elements and great emotional impact.
